TRANSPORTATION SECTOR

 

In the transportation sector, Corporación de Desarrollo Ambiental, S.A. (CODESA) has worked with companies such as: Grupo Unidos por el Canal (GUPC) / Panama Canal, Jan De Nul, Constructora MECO, S.A.; Constructora Norberto Odebrecht, PROINTEC/MOP, among others.


One of the main activities in the Expansion of the Panama Canal megaproject for the Design and Construction of the Third Set of Locks-Atlantic Sector was to perform Wildlife Rescue and Relocation and archeological exploration covering an area of approximately 270 hectares, in zones where activities of vegetation removal were done with machinery, topography and dredging works. This service was developed following the measures, strategies and processes that offer employees’ security, as well as an efficient handling of rescued species.


Other activities include: Risk Assessments on Health and Environment (ERSA, for its acronym in Spanish), Follow-up Reports, environmental and water monitoring.


CODESA, has also worked with PROINTEC/MOP in the making of several environmental and social studies of road infrastructure, for the restoration of roads throughout the country.
